. is a legacy dating back to Pre
Independence era, even before the Dandi
March staged by Mahatma Gandhi.
KK
- came
into being during the British rule , in
the early 19th Century ,
when the trade was called as Mukadams
and Dalals and during which time Terms
such as Carting and Mate Receipt were
formed and are still in use in current
Shipping Terminology.
KK
has a rich heritage as our founder the
late Shri Keshavlal Kalyanji was
associated with such renowned names in
the Industry such as the Delhi Cloth &
General Mills Co. Ltd. - popularly known
" DCM " ., Gaikwad Mills Ltd., Billimora,
Jayna Time Inds. Ltd., Zenith Steel
Pipes and many more.
In
fact , such was the esteem and respect
the late Shri. KK commandeered, that
the late Shri. Lala Shriram , Founder
owner of DCM rewarded him with part of
the shares of DCM , in appreciation of
an excellent service rendered in the
Custom Clearance of
the entire Project Machinery in the
early thirties and became a close family
friend.
Our
late Ganpatlal K., who was the brother
of late Shri.KK , was closely associated
in the initial formation of the " Bombay
Custom House Agents Association " and
played a key role .
In
recognition of the untiring efforts
made by him , KK & Co , was granted
the Customs House
Agents Licence No. CHA . 11 / 32 .,
being one of the first fifty ‘C.H.A.’s
to be recognized by Bombay Customs.
